You ever duck under a wave to hear the ferocious roar of the weight of water and foam crash behind you followed by the twinkling sound of shells gracing the ocean floor.
Mixed with sand, and coral, the shells glide, and can be adorned like wearable bells. Between the waves and edges of the little mounds of sand, the bodysurfers pound the ocean floor just to be closer to their lover, the oceans galore. I love her with valor as she is one of the rarest of the rare. Turtles fly through the sky reminiscing of the colors,
before
they decided to take their lives back to the ocean to live a life of spiritual drippage, watch a turtle surf they lick the biggest lips. It's uncommon to see a sea turtle on land. She loves her little honu (turtle) as she puts her feet in the sand and lets the wind blow her hair in a grand ration while the sun shines on her with passion as she was a tale as old as time in the latest fashion.
Crashing down on me is this responsibility.
You can hear the sound of the ocean in her shell forever, that the love in her home is comforting like milk to a bone.
I listen
Sshhhhhhhhhhccccrrrroooooossshhhhhhh
And I’ve never felt more at home.
I’ve found the greatest loves of my life,
The ones that I want in my future,
Remind me of my past.
When I’d spend my days camping at Bellows and swimming at Kailua beach park.
It’s as if the ocean speaks to me and speaks poetically and I gulp feverishly wondering when I’d get another breath for her to touch my face, stroke my beard and bring her forehead close to mine and we share a moment of intimacy, our love goes deep,
As deep as the sea.
We travel east looking for stars how pretty they are in the darkness of the night,
For this be the time a honu and I take flight.
We reached high up in the heavens looking and searching,
And we saw it,
Him,
He was close to the constellation Scorpio,
And he said
“Me ! Me ! Me ! I’m here!”
And me and her looked at him and said
“There you are your him!”
“We’ve looked everywhere for you!”
We exclaim.
“I’m here now!”
He says.
How we loved him so.
We bring him back to earth, where he would learn and grow and look for little honus and pōpōkis (cats) to play with and to munch on some poi (taro root).
How he loves his poi,
Our little poi boy.
She has this smile of Gold that reminds me of the Ko’olau mountains, during the sunrise she shines and sparkles even in the twilight.
We’d spend our nights at the beach and on the hunt to fill our insatiable hunger for a good burger or some Hawaiian food.
They don’t serve Hawaiian food past 8 for fear Hawaiians would never go home and sit there and eat and eat till they’ve grinded all their teeth.
Ive showed her the stars, and she gave me a new one, one that is graceful and rises and is bright like Sirius and points to Hoku Pa’a or true north you know he’s gonna make it big never a dwarf but from the shores we can see the stars good lord how dark she is to bring out the brightness in her being.
Mahealani (full moon) shines. Under the moonlight she looks fine reflecting twilight she's rinsed in, I can see her shell and how it looks like cosmic skin.
I love her, she gives life and creates it, she’s strong you know this, and the top scholars know to never debate it.
She asks me questions and I
Love that she shares the same curiosity for life as I do from the ocean to the sky, everything blue.
I can see her now one day,
Gaining her wings and leaving the ocean to fly high in the midnight sky,
To then reach the sun so he can tell her,
The people could fly.
I’m so proud of you.
I twitch in the silence,
Which lets me know,
That I always need to be,
By the sea.
